Brooklyn-via-Cincinnati quintet, The National, is preparing to release their next single, 'Apartment Story', on November 5th.

2007 has been a remarkable year for The National. Having quietly won over hearts, minds and ears with their latest album, Boxer, and played sold-out shows across America and beyond (including four consecutive nights at New York's Bowery Ballroom).

'Apartment Story' not only demonstrates their innate ability to render all things beautiful but also why they are fondly regarded as one of the best American bands around. This single is backed by a cover of 'Mansion On The Hill', better known as 'that' Bruce Springsteen song from his Nebraska album of 1982. Exclusive to this release, it was recorded live at the opening gala night of the 2006 New York Guitar Festival at the Winter Garden, New York City when they took part in 'The Nebraska Project', a 25th anniversary celebration of said album.
