“We
had a promise made, we were in love”
The Knife return with something
very special. The first cut from their new ‘Deep
Cuts longplayer.
‘Heartbeats’ is a genius tune. A perfect example
of why Karin and Olof Dreijer have swiftly become one of
Sweden’s hottest acts. Emotive songwriting married
with forward thinking production, ‘Heartbeats’ is
synth powered pop of the highest order. Rex The Dog remix
is a contender for mix of the year as this Kompakt recording
artist grabs the track by the scruff of the neck and wrestles
it onto the dancefloor. Superb stuff. Completing the package
The Knife deliver their own fresh techno interpretation while
on the vinyl Style Of Eye freaks things out with extra drums
and effects. It’s all very good.
The Knife began the year with their
eponymous debut album that raised appreciative eyebrows
across the board. Now Karin
and Olof present their next instalment of “emotional
electronic punk pop”. An utterly unique proposition.
Their new album ‘Deep Cuts’ is released at the
end of September. Get ready.
