The Beginning EP
(self-released; March 16)
Matt Pelham (vocals/guitar) * Roger Dabbs (bass)
Parrish Yaw (keyboards) * Rollum Haas (drums)
Some say it's new wave for the next generation - others
say it's the freshest, addictive pop sound they've heard
in the last ten years.
And in the small, hidden town of Sparta, Tennessee, The Features
meticulously honed it to a level of intelligence and precision.
So, what is "it?"
Simply put, "it" is The Features' refreshingly
exciting, brand new sound. At the same time, "it" begs
the question, what decade is this?; "it" can't
easily be categorized; "it" makes the future of
pop seem brighter knowing that The Features have a full-length
coming out on Universal Records this summer.
The Features' The Beginning EP was released in the UK in
fall of 2003 on stalwart indie label, Fierce Panda (who released
the first Coldplay single, as well as music from Supergrass,
Keane, The Faint, Polyphonic Spree, and Death Cab for Cutie).
The Features are finally set to bring The Beginning to the
US.
Performed at SXSW 2004, invited by Diesel, to stunned crowds.
The Features' major label debut, Exhibit A, will be released
on Universal Records in the summer of 2004.
