Alun Woodward (Guitar/vocals) Emma Pollock
(guitar vocals), Stewart Henderson (bass) and Paul Savage
(drums). Behind them is eight years of ambition, friendship,
argument and musical experiments. The group of friends started
a record company called Chemikal Underground that became one
of the original "helping hands" for other Scottish
bands such as Mogwai & Arab Strap
In the early years the band started out by making beautifully
skewed'n'dreamy folk-pop, they made an album called The Great
Eastern, produced by Dave Friddman (Flaming Lips, Mercury
Rev & Dot Allison). Time passed and the band were asked
to provide a live soundtrack for a 'dark' art show by Joe
Coleman, this became the first time the band wrote as a 4
piece without relying on Alun & Emma's lyrics to move
the audience.
This automatically made the band start work on a new album
first collaborating as a group and later adding vocals, The
outcome is the album Hate an album full of strummed guitar,
piano & strings. After Hate was finished the band took
the album back over to Dave Fridmann, on most of the tracks
he left them alone, as their was nothing he could add.
Now signed to Mantra Recordings The Delagdos plan to release
Coming in From The Cold on the 30th of September & is
the first single to be released off the album Hate, Hate will
be released on the 14th of October.
