It’s nice to see the Brand New Heavies back this time with Nicole Ausso providing the female vocals. Fans of them back in the early 90’s should like this. It has all the funk formula and pop crossover that made them so successful in the first place. Nicole Ausso performs well with a real sassy style and positive lyrics. The catchy chorus is trademark Brand New Heavies and the verses are backed with a nice funky backline, jabby guitar, cool keys and few horns to enhance the funk feel of the track. Their sound still fits well in our modern age so they don’t sound too dated. It’s really a slice of the same sound they’ve always created so if you like that you will like this.
