The Academy Is… are set to release their first commercial single 'Checkmarks', taken from their debut album Almost Here, on May 29 through Fueled By Ramen Records. 'Checkmarks' will be available on CD and clear 7'' vinyl.

After headlining the hugely successful 'Ambitious Ones and Smoking Guns' tour earlier this year (alongside Panic! At The Disco), Chicago quintet The Academy Is… are coming back to the UK. TAI are set to headline the Kerrang! stage at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton on May 20 and will then support label mates Fall Out Boy in a nationwide tour throughout the rest of May.

Due to the band's fervent following and a Myspace fan base of over 152k, the 'Ambitious Ones and Smoking Guns' tour sold out four months in advance without the band having released any music our side of the pond. TAI's music is spreading across the globe at high speed – in the UK demand for tickets for the tour was so strong that venues had to be upgraded twice…

You can catch them on tour this May, supporting Fall Out Boy.
