Stephen Fretwell has earnt quite a name for himself back home in the UK. His critically acclaimed debut album 'Magpie' has now gone gold (in the UK) & it was released in the US last week. Stephen Fretwell is firmly on his way to becoming one of the UK's most important singer songwriters.
Despite it's title, 'New York' is not necessarily about the city of that name. It's about escaping, about a dream and has more to do with Scunthorpe than the Big Apple. With the opening line "Please can we go away…." it's emotive and touching and a huge live favourite. The single is a new version, featuring strings.
