My Coco

Stellastar* have got a lot of hype as one of Britain’s best new bands so I listened to this with mixed feelings and it certainly doesn’t live up to the hype. ‘My Coco’ is distinctly average and it’s one major downfall is the vocals which are intense irritating and utterly unconvincing in trying to emulate singers like Morrissey. When it comes to the music it’s clear that bands like the Smiths are an influence here with gorgeous melodies and decent indie jangles. It’s such a shame about the vocals because this could’ve been a great record.
