'Work' EP is the debut release from young Austin sextet Sound Team. Recorded at the band's own studio/rehearsal base in east Austin, a former record pressing plant the band have christened Big Orange, with producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead), 'Work' is a glimpse into the a dazzlingly inventive world of Sound Team.

Their songs are rhythmic, propulsive and dynamic. The band uses their electric guitars and synthesizers to add texture, often treating them with arcane tape echoes so that they chime and swirl together until you can't tell which is which. But the electric piano, bass and drums are played with downright ferocity. Some helpful references: The Zombies, Brian Wilson, George Harrison, Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, The Modern Lovers, Phil Spector, Ennio Morricone, Talking Heads, Eurythmics, The Smiths, Willie Nelson.
