The band recently returned from the US
where they played a number of triumphant live dates. Bizarrely,
the ex Mr Pamela Anderson Tommy Lee, Guns n’ Roses
bassist Duff McKagan and Hollywood starlet Christina Ricci
were among the many happy punters who attended the gigs.
While in the US, the band also shot the
video for ‘Chocolate’. Following the TV airplay
success of ‘Run’, the band were determined to
deliver
another great video, and that they have
certainly done. The opening scene sees sand pass through
an hourglass and clocks counting down as Gary sings “This
could be the very minute I’m aware that I’m alive” .
The rest of the video has the band as a sea of tranquillity
in the midst of panic and mayhem – brilliantly shot,
and very striking, you’ll be seeing plenty of it.
The band recently completed a sold out
UK tour, receiving rapturous reviews along the way, before
heading to the US for the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
Following their own two scheduled shows (at which almost
1000 people were left outside, such was demand for tickets)
the band were then invited to play at the coolest party of
the week, the Fader Magazine bash.
With a sold out gig at Shepherds Bush
Empire on March 29th, Snow Patrol are on top of the world.
Dates in Belfast, Dublin and the Isle of Arran in April are
ahead of them before a European tour, more American dates
and several UK festivals make the next six months a very
busy time for Snow Patrol.
A band ready to take on the world,
2004 will be Snow Patrol’s year
