Sam Sparro is a 24 year old offering up a delicious mix of funk, soul, electro and dance in the shape of 'Black and Gold' (out March 31st on Island)- a record that is already making this LA-based internationalist white-hot property for 2008. Big news on the West Coast underground, Sam's unique style, vocal talent, eclectic sound and savvy lyrics have been creating.

‘Black and Gold’, Sam's debut, is a track that typifies his nu wave meets funk signature sound – as Sam would put it where ‘classic soul meets classic funk mixed with the kind of music I listen to now.’ And it’s already making it’s mark over here, with the likes of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe already singing Sam’s praises and Pete Tong making it his ‘Predicted’ track.

Sam is currently in LA putting the finishing touches to his debut album, and he will be playing at SXSW and the Miami Winter Conference before returning back to the UK to tour with his band and for the highly anticipated release of ‘Black and Gold’. Island Records release ‘Black and Gold’ featuring remixes from Al Usher and Paul Epworth on 31st March (download Available March 24th), and Sam’s debut album will be released on 21st April 2008.
