The Rumble Strips - Alarm Clock Video
Alarm Clock video from The Rumble Strips
The release date for 'Alarm Clock' is now March 12th (download), physical release March 19th.
'Alarm Clock' is the first Tony Hoffer recorded track to be released from The Rumble Strips debut album. Characterised by drummer Matt Wheeler's ferocious, stood-up drumming, it is not so much a shaking off of the winter cobwebs, as an explosive and rapturous first call of spring. Charlie's bitter sweet lyrics ("people misunderstand me, 'cos when I was made / some joker put my smile on, upside down") form the backdrop for this Stax-style, brass-led belter in which the melody just builds and builds.
The single is being promo'd in a totally unique DVD/vinyl format that has never been used before - the format operates on all standard DVD players, while the vinyl covering on the flip side plays the single on a traditional record player - look out for yours!
