In summer 2005 Rob stepped out with his first solo album ‘Lonely No More’, a record that by June had crowned him ‘the biggest selling debut solo of 2005’, scoring a multi-platinum
position, the years most air-play on US top 40 radio and critical acclaim in the number 1 spot across America, Europe and Australia. ‘Lonely No More’ had made a lot of friends.
On September 19 th Rob returns to the UK with his new single, ‘This Is How A Heart Breaks’ an energetic, neo-soul latino-rock ballad. From the driving opening drums to the
dark lyrics this single will not only dominate the airwaves but transcend to clubs the world over.
There is no doubting Rob’s excitement for what he’s created. ‘This Is How A Heart Breaks’ takes Rob in a new direction from his matchbox 20 days, but one, as an artist he felt needed, a
chance for him to redefine himself creatively.
“It was the idea of really finding out things about myself that I’ve never touched on. I just knew that I wrote songs but I don’t want to be just one thing. Nobody wants to
be just one thing. This record is me trying to step out of that.” – says Rob
The video for ‘This Is How A Heart Breaks’ is equally as impressive. Working with Director Pedro Romhanyi, the man behind Paul Weller’s ‘Changing Man’, Blur’s
‘Parklife and Manic Street Preachers ‘Design for Life’. Pedro and Rob created a stylish motion picture like action-video, following Rob on the pursuit from a dangerous soul across a bustling New York City, scaling high buildings
and leaping over moving vehicles. ‘This Is How A Heart Breaks’ has already become a huge hit on music TV play-lists.
Rob is currently finishing rehearsals for his second solo world-tour of 2005 and will be performing at this years prestigious Fashion Rocks in October.
