On the 23rd October 2006 Def Jam release the single `We Ride'. The single is taken from her second album `A Girl Like Me' which has already produced the monster hits `S.O.S.' and `Unfaithful'. Both those tracks made it to #2 in the UK charts, as did
her debut single `Pon De Replay', and helped propel her album to platinum sales status.
`We Ride' with its stuttering rhythms and gentle guitars is the perfect end of the summer song. As with `Unfaithful' production comes from the Norwegian hit machine Stargate as Rihanna wraps her honey sweet
vocals around a tale of great love that didn't get the chance it deserved. The video was shot in the Florida sunshine by Anthony Mandler, who also directed `Unfaithful' and the new video for The Killers. The video perfectly captures the mood of the
song with depictions of Rihanna cruising in her car, meeting up with her girls until she once again sees the man who still holds a special place in her heart.
Later in the year Rihanna will be joining the Pussycat Dolls on their European arena tour which hits the UK in Late November and climaxes at London's Wembley Arena on the 1st December. Rihanna made her movie
debut with a cameo role in Bring It On 3 which has recently been released on DVD.
