Revl9n are the mysterious musical missing link between Gina X, Early Madonna, Abba, Peaches, The Slits, Human League, In The Garden-era Eurythmics, the dfa, Gary Numan, Buffalo Girls, Glass Candy & Joan Jett, all uniquely spliced into a fantasy world of Agent Provocateur underwear, dark defiance, twisted humour, sonic bondage and lusty pop voyeurism that see¹s them forging a distinct and dangerous new sound for 2006.

Not much is known about this mysterious three-piece ­ a beautiful and sexually charged Swedish gang comprised of Maria Eilersen, Åsa Cederqvist & Nandor Hegedüs who under the name Revl9n have released three highly limited communiqués to the world on much sort after vinyl. Each of these records, now nee on impossible to find, marked an important step forward for the band- as these two girls and a guy messed around with twisted machines, cross pollinated with dramatic pop melodies and pounding visceral and lyrical assaults.

It is these early primal singles, punctuated by rare and legendary live sightings in Stockholm and their native Sweden, New York and Paris that reached the ears of tastemakers across the world, from Dazed & Confused to Les Inrocks to the patron¹s of New York¹s influential Other Music Mecca­ as people gravitated to their seductive and lusty Scandinavian dynamism.

Now signed to uber chic Parisian based label Because Music ­ the trio have set about writing and recording their debut album, to be released in late Spring. Revl9n are currently preparing to pat down your town with the unleashing of their cerebral and wet tongue lashing, first in the form of a limited release ŒWalking Machine¹ ­ a dark and throbbing electro-pop anthem, backed by mixes courtesy of Simian Mobile Disco, French nu-electro maestro Sebastien of the infamous Ed Bangers crew, Hot Chip & more, followed by a display of musical plumage both in the live arena and sonically speaking, and then by some hot shit that will make your eyes waterŠbut that my friends is another story entirely, for another dayŠbe sure to watch this space for details.
