Lewis Parkers’ unique and tasteful brand of soul and jazz based hip-hop is a subtly refreshing introduction to one man who could make a difference in the current UK hip-hop scene “It’s all Happening Now” is an ultra catchy, ultra cool excursion of excessively tasteful proportions. It’s a smooth rap propped up with a pitched up vocal, and jazz undertones that reeks of Common’s harmonies and sweetness. But it’s not only the A Side that cuts the mustard. The two extra tracks, “Schemes” and “What The Ancients Say” score equally on attainment, effort and all over excitability. Nice one. |
