| Here are two tracks to give you a pleasant taster of what’s in store with Rennie Pilgrem’s first mix album for three years. Both tracks are collaborative albums with Rennie himself bringing in two of his favourite producers. First up it’s Meat Katie with “Atmosophere” and as the album title suggests it’s all pretty tribal, and raw. Rumbling distortions and hypnotic beats do the trick. Arthur Baker joins Rennie on “Face It”, another dancefloor pleaser with sharp percussion and some distinctive Baker hip-hop vocals and breakdowns. Original and definitely winning. |
