| 6. Lo Fidelity Allstars “Deep Ellum..Hold On/Dark Is Easy” (12" - Skint) |
| Taking the bull by the horns in retro land, the Lo Fidelity Allstars convert to a full on p-funk groover with “Deep Ellum…Hold On”. This will be the first twelve to be released from their new album “Don’t Be Afraid Of Love” and the strength of the two tracks featured here mean an inevitable rush to get hold of a copy. The B-side’s “Dark Is Easy” tones the action down and instead takes in a much more soulful groove. It’s very reminiscent, in fact of The Avalanches “Since I Left You”, with heart-warming violins and warbling synths. Jolly good stuff. |
