| 7. Gorillaz “19-2000” (12" - (Parlophone)) |
| Quirky, catchy and not far off making it as a cartoon theme tune, “19-2000” is far from being the Gorillaz strongest single. The Double Deckers could have easily taken it on board. But if their current static chart positions are anything to go by (their last single and album are still in the charts after a month) they are guaranteed an A list placing on Radio 1, subsequent propulsion up the charts and straight onto TOTP. Not that Damon’s going to be showing his face this time either. Soulchild keep things quirky whilst taking into account peoples need to move their feet. The Wiseguys go for a change of tactics with a mediocre funk/house mix. |
