| 6. Starsailor “Alcoholic” (Chrysalis) |
| Two seriously good top twenty singles down the line (“Fever”, “Good Souls”) and it seems Starsailor could be preparing for yet another hit. “Alcoholic” is a dramatically uplifting piano laden fable that reaffirms their status as being up there amongst the current best UK guitar bands. “Alcoholic” is catchy, meaningful and helped along by James Walsh’s gorgeous glass-shattering vocal. Their up and coming debut album “Love Is Here” should also please as Walsh explains “We wanted it to be somewhere between Jeff Buckley’s “Grace” and Neil Youngs “Harvest””. No short order – let’s hope they can pull it off. |
