| 6. Rob “Power Glove” (12" - (Source)) |
| An unusual song to release and one that would sit more comfortably in the electric rock/pop charts of the seventies than in 2001. “Power Glove” is also home to the somewhat feeble vocals of Astrale. “Rob”, apparent protégé of fellow Frenchmen, Air, doesn’t manage to shake off the trademark French sound with this release and would seem to be aiming for a slot in the national charts – it’s all just a bit too “pop”. So, not many points for the original. Instead it’s the follow up track “Don’t Kill Jack Lahana” that steals the show with it’s instrumental blaze of stuttered beats and disco stabs. |
