Introducing Radar. . .

From Kilburn to Camden born and bred, their music is thick with the menace and excitement of pop's first city, a perfect distillation of West End gloss and East End grit, with echoes of the dub reggae Soundsystem's of Brixton and Notting Hill, the barbed wire guitars of Whitechapel's Rhythm Factory and the heartache and angst that makes its home everywhere and nowhere.

This is the sound of Radar, a gang not affected by trend or by scene, by tribe or by cut. Their debut single for EMI Records 'Lunacy' is the first taste you'll really get of the full Radar sound*. Released on June 19th , 'Lunacy' is tripped out mechanical dub pop, both bold and hypnotic in its clutch, whilst ' One Million' rides a rhythmical dancehall bassline majestically. Radar has created a sound that is referential without ever being derivative. Instead they have absorbed, contextualized and reinvented for 2006.

Radar are singer and multi instrumentalist Callum Johnston, guitarist Barney Monk, bassist Tom Wilson, and drummer Steve Harry...welcome to their claustrophobic, well-dressed, quintessentially English world. Their debut album will follow this summer, preceded by a few surprises along the way. They will also be coming live to a hall, dancefloor, tavern or disco near you very soon.
