And that’s not to mention the reports beamed back from the future, Michael J Fox style, which state that our world is destined to fall into the laps of marketeers, spin doctors, stylists and advertising
agents – the enemies of the truth – and all our kids will be named after ad slogans such as "Coke Is It" and "Just Do It".
Mercifully, Perfect sees Princess Superstar, the would-be despot who resides in the imagination of New York gal Concetta Kirschner, take time off from her intergalactic travails. A
playful and symphonic hip hop tale which casts Salt N Pepa versus Debbie Harry, Perfect has as much bounce as Kobe Bryant and just as much game. Its groove has been specially extracted from a 1970´s Cop Chase TV show; it wasn’t a nice
job, but Superstar knew it had to be done.
But that’s not all. Alongside the original there’s also the small matter of Michi Lange’s (house superstar Boris Dlugosch’s partner) awesome reworking to devour. Recasting Superstar as
an acid-drenched electromagnetic MC, it’s hypnotic electro disco groove builds magnificently into an electronic body music monster. It’s simple, but deadly, and complements the original’s salacious mood perfectly.
So, our superhero, if only for a short time, is back in 2005. We can’t predict where she’ll pop up next, but in the meantime: ‘1, 2, 3, 4, let me hear you scream if you want some
more…’
