Having formed just over a year ago in Manchester (although Dylan and Yuri have been making music together since their schooldays in Devon), a string of acclaimed live performances towards the end of last year, including an astounding set at In The City, saw the band picking up plays on Radio 1 as well as some glowing column inches in the music press.
The band, who have drawn comparisons to the likes of Can and My Bloody Valentine courtesy of their hypnotic, sun-drenched melodies, have, for the past six months been writing constantly with a view to releasing their debut album in early 2007.
Polytechnic released their debut single Won't You Come Around / Let Me Down in April of this year to much critical acclaim, while a string of headline dates in April and a startling performance at this years SxSW festival in Austin Texas garnered praise for their uplifting, shimmering live set.
Recently appearing alongside The Strokes, Doves, The Young Knives and The Longcut the band have announced that they will be performing at this years inaugural Latitude Festival at Southwold in Suffolk on Saturday 15th July.
