Plan B was never likely to be pigeonholed as just a straight-up rapper. Arriving last year armed with little more than a sharp biro, an acoustic guitar and a deft ability to turn bitingly brutal narratives into hooky pop tracks, his was an entirely new twist on the art form. Take No Good or Dead and Buried for example. Compelling, raw but totally accessible and unlike anything else you will have heard all year, sonically snapping back the necks of his contemporaries became second nature.

Now the live favourite No More Eatin' heads up an EP of brand new recordings and two previously unheard tracks, all laid down in their raw, natural state - with accompanying video - in one day this summer, the 21st August at the Pet Cemetery studios, London. Backing singers, pianist, strings - everything was brought in for a special one-off session and the results further emphasise the 21 year old's incredible talents. For while Ben Drew's album has been rightly acclaimed as a breath of fresh air for hip hop, the Plan B live show lifts him head and shoulders above every other MC out there and is captured for the first time in the enhanced CD's video for the lead track, shot during the recording session.

If No More Eatin' best reflects Ben's love of bands like Rage Against The Machine and Radiohead, then Broke displays his impressive range and ability to conjure up soulful, edgy rhythm n blues. Then there is EP closer My Life, an x-rated rail against the fashion-followers and opinionated people that try to get a piece of him and what he is about, essentially a big f**k you of a track.
