Patrick Watson is the new talent who fronts the Montreal four-piece band of the same name. Patrick Watson release their debut single, Luscious Life on August 6th 2007 through V2. First single - double a-side 'Luscious Life' / 'The Storm' - is the perfect introduction to the world of Patrick Watson. 'Luscious Life' is built around gospel piano and Patrick's haunting voice - a quite stunning piece of song writing. The flip side of the record showcases the band's cinematic, otherworldly sound, with the Morricone meets Tom Waits apocalyptic dustbowl of 'The Storm'.

This is followed by the stunning album 'Close to Paradise', out September 10th.

'Close to Paradise' was released in the band's native Canada last year where the band have become the toast of the Montreal scene and the album has been heralded as classic. Patrick Watson were nominated at the Juno awards (at which they also played) for New Artist of the Year.
