Featuring Carmen Reece
‘U Got Me’
Those new to the talents of Carmen Reece will be left in little doubt, after hearing her electrifying vocals, that she is a name to watch on the UK music scene. Despite being only 21, she boasts charisma, charm, beauty and, above all, an undeniable
musical talent - all characteristics which will stand her in good stead as she aims to emulate the success of her idols Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton and Brandy. From as early as the age of 7, Carmen’s passion for music has been paramount in her
life – as well as singing, she plays piano and flute, choreographs her own dance routines, and writes her own material. She has already supported Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland and up-and-coming UK R&B sensation Nate James,
and performed at the renowned Southport event, R&B Sensations, Choice FM’s 15th Birthday and Twice As Nice. Carmen will also appear on the MTV Base Lounge tour in Leeds on 26th May, and is currently in the studio writing her debut album.
She has worked with a wide range of international writing and producing talent, including Fitzgerald Scott (Mary J Blige / Lemar / Destiny’s Child), Rod Temperton (Michael Jackson – ‘Thriller’, ‘Rock With You’
etc.), Diane Warren (Toni Braxton / Mariah Carey), Mark Nelson (Boyz II Men / Az Yet), Tony Black (Alicia Keys), Julian Gallagher (Gabrielle / Kylie), Damon Sharpe and Mark Feist (Destiny’s Child / J Lo), Jimmy Hogarth (Estelle), Johnny
Douglas (George Michael / Kylie), Femi Fem (Young Disciples) and (obviously) Para Beats.

‘U Got Me’ is the latest track to feature Carmen’s soulful voice and is produced by one of the country’s rising urban stars – Para Beats. It follows her debut promo-only release
‘How Freaky Can You Get’, which was a smash with underground R&B DJ’s last year and boasted heavy support from Radio 1’s Dreem Team and 1Xtra’s Ronnie Herel among others. As if Miss Reece’s involvement in
‘U Got Me’ were not enough to guarantee the quality of the track, the production skills of Para Beats are clearly displayed by the fact that he has no less than 3 hot tracks in circulation at present, including Northstar’s
‘On The Rise’, Biggz’s ‘Cor Blimey’ and Cream Cartel’s ‘Bang Bang’.
The street hype for ‘U Got Me’ has been gathering pace since limited copies of the tune were serviced to key club and radio DJ’s at the start of the year, and this
interest is now swiftly crossing over into the mainstream. The record is still in the boxes of many top DJ’s including Trevor Nelson, Ronnie Herel, Diggz, Firin’ Squad, Chubby Kidz and Pete Tong. Not only that, radio is warming to Para
and Carmen’s flava, with tastemaker stations Choice FM and 1Xtra playlisting the single months upfront of commercial release. Further, the video for ‘U Got Me’ has already received support from MTV Base, MTV Hits and Channel U, and
should continue to build a following with it’s distinctive UK emphasis that sets it apart from the slew of ‘blinging’ US urban vids. It seems that ‘U Got Me’ is shaping up to be a summer hit, and rightly so –
it’s about time that the quality of the music placed some true UK talent alongside those revered stateside artists which we hear so much about.
‘U Got Me’ will be released on 15th August on OneTwo Records.
