| OLD SCHOOL is a raucous new
campus comedy from DreamWorks, which brings together the writer
and director of Road Trip and the producer of National
Lampoons Animal House.
Luke Wilson (The
Royal Tennenbaums), Will Ferrell (Saturday Night
Live) and Vince Vaughn (Swingers) star as
a trio of thirtysomething buddies who try to recapture the
outrageous, irrepressible fun of their college years by starting
their own irregular fraternity.
Holding their own
alongside the over-the-hill frat boys are Ellen Pompeo (Daredevil),
Juliette Lewis (Cape Fear) and Elisha Cuthbert
(who plays Kiefer Sutherlands daughter-in-peril in 24).
The film also features cameos from Road Trip alumni
Sean William Scott, Andy Dick and Breckin Meyer and a full-blooded
performance by Snoop Dogg and his band.
OLD SCHOOL reunites the team behind
the hit comedy Road Trip, with Todd Phillips directing,
and also producing with Daniel Goldberg and Joe Medjuck. Ivan
Reitman (who made his producing debut with 1978s classic
National Lampoons Animal House) and Tom
Pollock are the executive producers. Todd Phillips co-wrote
the screenplay with Scot Armstrong, from a story by Court
Crandall and Phillips and Armstrong.
LUKE WILSON (Mitch) made his feature
film debut in Bottle Rocket, which also marked
his first onscreen work with his brother, actor/writer Owen
Wilson, and writer/director Wes Anderson. They then reteamed
on Andersons Rushmore, one of the most critically
acclaimed films of 1998, which was co-written by Anderson
and Owen Wilson, and co-starred Luke Wilson. In 2001, Anderson
and the Wilson brothers enjoyed their most successful collaboration
on the widely acclaimed comedy The Royal Tenenbaums,
again directed by Anderson and co-written by Owen Wilson and
Anderson, in which the Wilson brothers joined an all-star
ensemble cast, including Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Gwyneth
Paltrow, Ben Stiller and Bill Murray.
Earlier that year, Wilson had also earned praise from critics
and audiences when he starred opposite Reese Witherspoon in
the smash hit comedy Legally Blonde.
He had previously appeared in the blockbuster
Charlies Angels, with Drew Barrymore, Cameron
Diaz and Lucy Liu. This summer, Wilson will be seen in the
much anticipated sequels to both films: Legally Blonde:
Red, White & Blonde and Charlies Angels
2: Full Throttle.
Wilson had first worked with Barrymore when they starred together
in the offbeat romantic comedy Home Fries. His
other feature film credits include Committed,
opposite Heather Graham; My Dog Skip; Blue
Streak, with Martin Lawrence; and Scream 2.
Following Old School, Wilson
stars in Masked & Anonymous, with Bob Dylan,
Penelope Cruz and Jessica Lange. He is presently filming the
romantic comedy Loosely Based on a True Love Story,
in which he stars opposite Kate Hudson, under the direction
of Rob Reiner.
WILL FERRELL (Frank) recently completed
his seventh and final season on NBCs seminal late-night
hit Saturday Night Live. Ferrells hilarious
impersonation of candidate-then-President George W. Bushespecially
during the historic Indecision 2000was one
of several characters that established him as one of the shows
most popular and versatile cast members. Ferrells work
on Saturday Night Live brought him two Emmy Award
nominations in 2001 for Outstanding Individual Performance
and Outstanding Writing on a Variety, Music or Comedy Program.
On the big screen, Ferrell was most recently
seen in the comedy Zoolander, with Ben Stiller
and Owen Wilson, in which he played Mugatu, the overbearing
fashion designer; and in Kevin Smiths Jay and
Silent Bob Fight Back, as an ambitious Wildlife Federal
Marshal. He has also worked with several of his Saturday
Night Live castmates in the films The Ladies Man,
with Tim Meadows; Superstar, with Molly Shannon;
A Night at the Roxbury, with Chris Kattan, with
whom he also collaborated on the screenplay; and the mega-hit
comedy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,
starring Mike Myers, in which Ferrell made his feature film
debut.
Ferrell is currently filming the Christmas-themed
comedy Elf, for director Jon Favreau, in which
he plays the title role of a man who was raised in the North
Pole to be an elf. Elf, which also stars Zooey
Deschanel, Bob Newhart, James Caan and Mary Steenburgen, will
be released this November.
