On
November 3rd, 2003 V2 Records releases the first single
from Nitin Sawhney’s critically-acclaimed
album “Human.” "Rainfall" features
21 year old Taio on vocals, who is fast becoming one of the
record industry’s most sought-after British soul talents
following his recent tour appearances with Sawhney.
The video features Taio, Nitin, and a troupe of breakdancers
against a grafittied urban space in London. Rishi Rich's
remix audio lends the video a hint of desi funk, all under
the soulful falling of rain.
The Album version of "Rainfall" is a beautiful
R&B classic showcasing an exceptional voice and wonderful
songwriting.
The remix package features interpretations
by some of London’s
true innovators in music production, with Wookie (Whitney
Houston, Soul II Soul, Brandy), Rishi Rich (Mary J Blige,
Craig David, and Misteeq), and Bugz in the Attic delivering
mixes that are guaranteed to rip the dancefloors and airwaves
to shreds.
Rodney P (formerly of the London
Posse and now of his own Riddim Killa Records, and a true
leader in the British hip-hop
community) also lends his lyrics and killer delivery to the “Rainfall
Remixes.”
The Rishi Rich Remix, with its floor-thumping
desi beats has already received plays at Choice FM (London)
and Radio
One’s Bobby & Nihal show, while Wookie’s
urban and soulful Sunshine Remix is poised to take over the
UK's R&B scene in the next few weeks.
