Single Review

Well, it must be a good 16 years since Head Like a Hole was filling scuzzy dance floors across the land, and in that time Trent Reznor has explored many aspects of himself, his musical language and the public's response to these. He has seen triumph, and in terms of public reaction, he has seen failure.

This single cut from the Year Zero concept album is unfortunately a pastiche of what Reznor is capable of. It's a well-produced journey into broken-beat darkness that we are so familiar with, but ultimately it doesn't work as a piece of songwriting. It's pedestrian, safe, and being blunt - rather boring if the truth were known.
