Mystery Jets
Diamonds in the Dark
Single Review

I wonder if lead vocalist Blaine Harrison has a crap time on the road, you surely can't live a proper rock and roll lifestyle if your dad is in your band? Yes that will be Harrison senior that you can hear plucking away on the guitar.

The two versions of Diamonds in the Dark are quite distinctive. The first has a thrashier hard hitting, melancholy slightly Morrissy -ish sound which is replaced in Kid Harpoon's version by a much lighter and more easy listening softer tune. The EP also includes the psychedelic pop track 'Scarecrows in the Rain' which is said to be written as a tribute to Syd Barret the deceased founding member of Pink Floyd.
