Prior to releasing their glittering new album, 'Puzzles Likes You', the fifth album in the already rich history of Mojave 3, comes 'Breaking The Ice'.
Mojave 3 are writing their "poppiest" material to date. The proof lies in Puzzles Like You, the most approachable, infectious and downright fun record they have ever made. Recorded in its entirety at their studio in Cornwall, they drafted Victor Van Vugt (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Beth Orton, Athlete) in to mix it and the results are nothing short of astounding. It seems set to bring the band to a wider audience and experience shows that when people fall under the spell of their subtle and gorgeous music, they tend to stick around.
'Breaking The Ice' is the first single to be taken off the album and what better way to announce their return than this. It's pure Mojave 3 – splashed with sunlight and the heady sparkle of summertime waves – resistance is near futile. Artist / film director Thomas Campbell (whose film Sprout majored on Mojave and Halstead music) supplied the artwork while the marvellously quirky video was directed by Bradley Beesley of Flaming Lips fame. In addition, exclusive to this release are the tracks 'Star In The Sky' and 'Bright Lights'.
The Mojave 3 Quicktime player - this features 10 songs from the Mojave 3, Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell catalogue - starting with three from the beautiful new album 'Puzzles Like You', out on 19th June (UK), 20th June (US).
