Ricardo Tubbs is urbane and dead smart. He lives with Bronx-born intel analyst Trudy, as they work undercover transporting drug loads into South Florida to identify a group responsible for three murders.

Sonny Crockett [to the untrained eye, his presentation may seem unorthodox, but procedurally, he is sound] is charismatic and flirtatious until - while undercover working with the supplier of the South Florida group - he gets romantically entangled with Isabella (Gong Li), the Chinese-Cuban wife of an arms and drugs trafficker.

The best undercover identity is oneself with the volume turned up and the restraint unplugged. The intensity of the case pushes Crockett and Tubbs out onto the edge where identity and fabrication become blurred, cop and player become one - especially for Crockett in his romance with Isabella and for Tubbs in the provocation of an assault on those he loves.

Miami Vice stars Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, Gong Li, Naomie Harris and Ciarn Hinds and is written and directed by Michael Mann, who also produces along with Pieter Jan Brugge; Anthony Yerkovich serves as executive producer.

Colin Farrell does a fantastic impersonation of the real dude, DON JOHNSON, aka "Sonny Crockett"! Michael Mann yet again rips off a great series in which he thankfully established on television in the 1980's! For a new generation of MIAMI VICE viewers I say, go watch the movie and then find MIAMI VICE, the TV series on one of your local channels which runs it back to back! TVLAND "ain't" one of them. Michael Mann, my hat's off to you for not only producing and directing a wonderful television show for us to get "hot and bothered" over in the eighties but also for re-writing the scripts on hot, humid and sultry shoots with DJ and Philip Michael Thomas. Colin Farrell looks like a great copy of DJ's "Sonny." No offense, Colin but when a lady has had the hots for DJ since the premiere of MIAMI VICE then no one else compares! :-) (And I was only one year old then!) :-) Jamie Foxx, you are a "fox" but no WHERE in coparison with PMT!
