The revival of disco in dance music is upon us. So what a find from the enigmatic DJ Meck, who dug up this old Leo Sayer record which, with a little added production, fits perfectly with what's going on dance music right now. Like Tony Christie's "Amarillo" and Elton John's "Are You Ready For Love?" (neither huge hits at the time), we fear this is about to shame contemporary songwriting and record making by blowing them all out of the water.

Sampling Leo Sayer's 1977 hit 'Thunder In My Heart' with Leo's full blessing, Meck is an anglophile living in LA making a name for himself in the adult entertainment industry in the late nineties. He turned his back on that to concentrate on his passions of dj-ing & producing music. After some wild times, he seems to have struck a chord with 'Thunder' – with likes of Pete Tong making this his Essential New Tune on Radio1.

Meck's use of 'Thunder' was inspired by reading that Leo wrote & recorded the original with his partner Tom Snow in LA after driving their limo up & down Sunset Bvld checking out all the hot women they saw...naturally it struck a chord with our man Meck who hooked up with his old studio friends from London Lee Dagger & Marc JB, better known as Bimbo Jones.
