Marilyn Manson, the worlds only true rock
star, soothsayer and poet, releases his new album 'The Golden
Age Of Grotesque' on May 12th.
For the record, Manson
takes his inspirations from the glamour of 1930s Hollywood,
the grotesque of Vaudeville to the extreme height of cabaret
decadence and so-called "degenerate" art in Weimar
Berlin just before its destruction.
"This album
is about expression. The imagination and personality of the
individual cannot be trapped by small minds or defined by
any one person. The genius of art finds sanctuary among children
and madmen to survive. That, is who we are."
The album is produced
by Marilyn Manson and Tim Skold and mixed by Ben Grosse.
The first single
will be "mOBSCENE", released on June 2nd. A vicious
stomp of a song, it comes complete with a Manson directedvideo
featuring an elephant, cabaret chorus dancers and burlesque
dancer Dita Von Teese.
Following the departure of Twiggy
Ramirez from the band, Manson welcomes Tim Skold on Bass.
Fans will soon get a first glimpse of him at three UK dates
- The Download festival on May 31st, Glasgow Braehead Arena
on June 2nd and London Brixton Academy on June 4th.
