‘The Body Gave You Everything’ is the debut album by Magnus. Magnus are Tom Barman, main man of Belgium rockers dUES, and CJ Bolland who is a DJ-producer and a key figure in the international techno scene. This album makes for an interesting journey into progressive, chilled, dance breakbeats with a nice European flavour to make it cool.

I don’t know if it’s as ‘cool’ as Ian Brown’s solo stuff but it’s definitely edgier than Air. It’s somewhere in the middle with a bigger pull towards dance music. Magnus have created a warm and creative mix of sounds that deserve a place with the Saint Etienne crew. The rhythm section is solid, upbeat and funky that is mixed well with the bass. There’s all the European influence to keep it techno and space like. It’s progressive and pleasant.
