Unusual for Def Jam to miss someone right under their nose. Lupe Fiasco featured on Kanye West's "Touch The Sky". But it is Atlantic that snapped this hugely talented, rhyme slaying maestro up. The backing is as pure as the rap rhymers style. More reminiscent of the likes of the classic hip hop acts, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Tribe and Gang Starr. Than the nowadays acts. Very soulful and Jazz influenced backbeat, outta today's acts it's probably more like Little Brother than anything mainstream. A strong debut solo offering from a real strong rhyme slayer.
