Uncompromising and passionate, LOVE+HATE charts the story of two young people from conflicting backgrounds who fall hopelessly in love. Torn between loyalties to friends and family, the young lovers find themselves caught in a devastating crossfire between faith and feeling, tradition and instinct, love and hate. The film details the turmoil of ordinary people from differing backgrounds as they embark on the search to discover if those differences are truly skin deep.

Uncompromising and passionate, LOVE+HATE is the latest revealing look at contemporary Britain from critically acclaimed filmmaker Dominic Savage who makes his feature film directorial debut.

Savage is a graduate of the National Film and Television School. He has won several television BAFTA awards including for Nice Girl and When I Was 12. Following this, he directed the highly acclaimed Out of Control in 2002 for BBC Screen Two winning the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2002 and the Royal Television Society Award for Best Single Film in 2003.

LOVE+HATE boasts a cast of relative newcomers including Samina Awan as Naseema, Wasim Zakir as Yousif, Nichola Burley as Michelle and Tom Hudson as Adam. In her feature film debut, Awan was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for most promising newcomer.

The Love+Hate soundtrack boasts fantastic contributions from Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol fame who wrote an original love song, Perfect Little Secret for the film as well as contributing a selection of other tracks. Ian Brown, formerly of The Stone Roses, contributes two powerful songs, Sweet Fantastic & Solarized. A range of new and young British artists also feature; Keane, Shystie, the young garage MC and haunting singer-songwriter Stephen Fretwell.

LOVE+HATE screened at Berlin Film Festival (Panorama), Karlovy Vary, Giffoni & Dinard Film Festivals and recently won the New Voices/New Visions Award at the 17th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in Jan. 2006. Dominic Savage also recently won The City of Malmo's Children and Young People's Film Award at, Buff International Children and Young People´s Film Festival, Malmo, Sweden.

Neris Thomas produced the film via Ruby Films with BBC Films in association with the UK Film Council. Robert Jones, Ruth Caleb and David Thompson serve as exec producers. Love+Hate is being distributed in the UK by Verve Pictures and sold internationally by The Works.
