Comprised of Jason Hill (vocalist/guitarist/bassist/pianist/producer), Brian Karscig (guitarist/vocalist/bassist/pianist), and Mark Maigaard (drummer), Louis XIV began operations in April 2003. The band's
self-titled debut album, released on their own homegrown Pineapple label, earned
them critical praise and widespread radio airplay, from their native San Diego to the United Kingdom.
In the spring of 2004, a rough early mix of "Finding Out True Love Is Blind" became a regional radio smash, despite the fact that it wasn't included on the band's album. The airplay resulted in soaring
record sales, leading the band to release a pair of EPs - dubbed "PINK EP" and "BLUE EP" - featuring a few faves from "LOUIS XIV," along with a handful of their latest recordings.
An electrifying live outfit, Louis XIV - now including bassist Jimmy Armbrust - saw their fanbase grow by leaps and bounds with a series of tours, supporting such like-minded artists as the Killers.
As a result, the band's self-released album and EPs have already sold upwards of 10,000 copies, at shows as well as online at the band's
www.louisxiv.net.
Louis XIV are on the road and want to make sure that their loyal fans have the opportunity to buy tickets for a series of upcoming shows. For the shows listed with "PREBUY" on the shows page, Louis XIV will be offering
tickets here before they go on sale to the general public!
