You! Me! Dancing! / It Started With A Mix
Single Review
A Welsh seven-piece with this much talent, who would have thought? Amid a sizeable amount of expectation for a good year, Los Campesinos release their second in a series of Double A-Side singles. A tasteful sound similar to The Strokes, The Thrills, Bjork and Bell-X1; this band could clearly go places.
Both tracks are already hugely popular with their emergent fanbase, and it's clear why. 'You! Me! Dancing!' is a bubbly, energetic tune. The vocals are, for the most part, over-looked by a repetitive melodic motif on vibraphone and guitar, which shapes the whole foundations for the track. 'It Started With A Mix' uses simple clapping hands to form the rhythmic beat but unlike the other track the vocal line becomes more dominant and a lot more significant; a surprisingly short track though. Either way, both tracks show promising signs from the band.
7/10
