This time last summer, Laura Groves was waiting for her A-Level results; this year she's looking forward to the release of her first single 'I Am Leaving.' I Am Leaving will be released on November 19th 2007 through Salvia Records.

Laura Groves, 19 years of age, lives in the town of Shipley. Here she writes songs for
various instruments, some of which she can play and some of which she can't (but tries to anyway), and watches the interesting folk go by.

With deftly finger-picked guitar, rich synths, layers of harmony and Laura's mesmerising falsetto voice, 'I Am Leaving' draws the listener into her kaleidoscopic world and beyond; a world past Shipley station, over Shipley tower and out into the great outdoors.

Having ventured out of Yorkshire to support Guillemots and Angus and Julia Stone on tour, Laura has also run up an impressive set of dates including appearances with Jack Penate, James Yorkston, Tilly and the Wall, Final Fantasy, Elvis Perkins, Jeffrey
Lewis and Jeremy Warmsley.

Laura has also had her tracks featured on the '50minutes' compilation alongside artists such as Daniel Johnston and Emmy the Great and the Dance to the Radio compilation 'Something I Learnt Today.'

This summer has seen Laura make her debut on the festival circuit, popping up at Secret Garden Party, End Of The Road Festival, Nasty Fest, and Carling Leeds Festival.
