Following her recent Top 30 hit '9 to 5', LADY SOVEREIGN releases her latest, BASEMENT JAXX produced, single 'Hoodie' out November 21st on ISLAND RECORDS. As much an ode to Adidas and SOV'S favourite attire, the track also marks an attempt by SOV to save the hoodie from the current wave of middle England's alarmist tactics. By dedicating a positive track to her first fashion love, SOV aims to outline the absurdity of banning an item of clothing and to draw attention to the greater social issues at heart. As well as being busy in the studio and performing at a number of events over the past few months, including THE EDEN PROJECT, TDK FESTIVAL and playing with PUBLIC ENEMY and RUN-DMC at US shows, SOV was recently flown out to New York by JAY-Z and the DEF JAM label for a meeting with JAY-Z, label chairman LA REID, and USHER. SOV won over JAY-Z after an impromptu performance for the all star audience, with JAY-Z promising to get her into the studio to start cutting tracks for the ISLAND/ DEF JAM release of her debut album, since then BEASTIE BOY'S AD ROCK, YOUNG GURU and MISSY ELLIOTT's SOUL DIGGAS have started working with SOV. The fruits of these sessions will join the other tracks she has been working on with BASEMENT JAXX and MEDASYN including 'Blah Blah', 'Ch Ching', 'Random' and '9 to 5' and form her debut album. The album, entitled Public Warning will be released in February 2006 in the UK on ISLAND RECORDS.

Fresh from supporting the Go! Team , Lady Sovereign is currently on her own UK headline tour, following which she embarks on her first US tour.
