KT Tunstall's Acoustic Extravaganza
Album Audio Streams
Between Christmas and New Year 2005, following months on the road, KT Tunstall and her band spent two days in a tiny recording studio on the Scottish Isle Of Skye. The results of this session are 'KT Tunstall's Acoustic Extravaganza'.
The idea to record an unplugged album sprang up from an acoustic evening KT and her friends started in Edinburgh a few years ago, long before she signed her deal with Relentless Records and her amazing story blossomed into over 3 million sales of her debut album and her BRIT award as Best Female at this year's event.
'Acoustic Extravaganza', a collection of stripped back, acoustic versions of new songs, B sides and re-workings of tracks from 'Eye To The Telescope' was originally released as a digital download earlier this year and as a physical release through her website. It also includes a cover of Beck's 'Golden Age' and early material such as KT's debut single 'Throw Me A Rope', which was originally released as a limited edition 7" in autumn 2004. The album will be released as a combined CD and DVD pack featuring a 'Making the album' documentary. The full album track listing is as follows:
Acoustic Extravaganza showcases another side to Tunstall. Fans will discover a more country/folk orientated side to her sound, glimpses of which will have been heard by those who have witnessed her fantastic live shows; KT was also nominated as Best Live Act at this year's Brits. KT is currently in the studio working on her second studio album proper, which is due for release in 2007. She has also been promoting 'Eye To The Telescope' in the US, where it has already sold well over half a million copies.
