On 23rd July Virgin Records will release 'Evolution' - the first single to be taken from Korn's eighth studio album.

On the topic of the new single, Jonathan Davis said, 'Evolution is about us as a human race. We have not evolved since monkeys. Animals and humans are pretty much the same. Look at this war we're fighting; we're the bullies - same shit in the monkey world.'

'Evolution' is taken from the band's forthcoming untitled album. It was produced by Korn's 'See You On The Other Side' producer Atticus Ross (Ross is also known for his revolutionary work with NIN). In releasing an album with no title singer Jonathan Davis commented, 'We didn't want to label this album. It has no boundaries; it has no limits and why not just let our fans call it whatever they wanna call it?'

Korn are currently finishing a hugely successful, sold out European tour. They will shortly return to the US to play this year's Family Values Tour, which launches on July 20th in St. Louis, MO. Korn, along with management company The Firm created and headlined The Family Values Tour in 1998 and last year's triumphant return outing was an extraordinary success, setting attendance records at numerous venues and selling over 400,000 tickets total. Korn and Evanescence will co-headline this year's festival, which also features Atreyu, Flyleaf, Hell Yeah (featuring members of Pantera and Mudvayne), and Trivium on the main stage.

'Evolution' will be available on two formats: 7' white vinyl, limited edition - 'Evolution', b/w 'I Will Protect You'; and CD single - 'Evolution' and the Dave Aude remix of 'Evolution'
