It is safe to say that however the world is to end, whether through a day of judgement, crashing asteroid or other such misfortune, the headliners for the final gig will be Killing Joke. No other band epitomises the dark, creeping paranoia and apocalyptic terror of the end of the world more than KJ. Their latest slab of aural fear is 'Hosannas from the Basements of Hell', and it comes as no surprise to hear that this is the typical mix of tribal beats, sonic-drill guitars and madman-genius rants and screams. Jaz Coleman has said that KJ will go on forever, almost as though the band are more than the sum of their parts – if this album is anything to go by, that could well be true. Another classic.
