Kevin
Lyttle is proving anew one of music’s most important
tenets: that
just one person, with one daring idea, can convert an entire
world full of
listeners, fans, and musicians.
With its irrepressible beat, sweet
melody, and a vocal performance that’s at once mellow,
intense, and inviting, Kevin’s smash single, “Turn
Me On” - recorded in a local studio on the island
of St. Vincent – was
the biggest soca hit to emerge from the Caribbean in 20 years.
Blending traditional soca, American R&B, and Jamaican
dancehall – Kevin
has set the entire West Indies on fire, with tunes that have
gone on to boom across dance floors worldwide in a phenomenal
two-year run.
For the 26 year old, "Turn Me On" has
been a massive breakthrough record, peaking at number 3
in the U.K. back in October 2003 and higher still across
Europe.
His follow up single "Last Drop" is
released on Atlantic Records on the 17th May and delivers
another big hit of his eclectic and innovative fusion of
music. His debut album is released a week later.
