KEANU REEVES is best known for his
starting
roles in the box office megahits "The Matrix" and
"Speed." His long list of credits include; Sam
Raimi's
"The Gift," for which he received critical
acclaim,
Pat O'Connor's "Sweet November," Howard Deutch's
"The Replacements," Alfonso Arau's period drama,
"A Walk in the Clouds;" the hit thriller,
"Devil's
Advocate;" "Little Buddha," directed by
Bernardo
Bertolucci; Kenneth Branagh's "Much Ado about
Nothing."
Reeves was also seen in "Bram Stroker's Dracula,"
directed by Francis Ford Coppola; "My Own Private
Idaho,"
directed by Gus Van Sant; Kathryn Bigelow's
action-adventure
film "Point Break;" the very popular "Bill
& Ted's Excellent Adventure" and it's sequel,
"Bill
& Ted's Bogus Journey."
Raised in Toronto, Reeves performed in
various
local theater productions and on television before
relocating
to Los Angeles. His first widely acclaimed role was in Tim
Hunter's "River's Edge." He then starred in
Marisa
Silver's "Permanent Record," and in "The
Prince
of Pennsylvania." Yet another turn came when the actor
was cast as the innocent Danceny in Stephen Frears' highly
praised "Dangerous Liaisons." He joined other
outstanding
casts that year in Ron Howard's comedy,
"Parenthood,"
and Lawrence Kasdan's "I Love You to Death."
Audiences
saw Reeves for the first time as the romantic lead in Jon
Amiel's "Tune in Tomorrow." His additional
credits
include Tri-Star's sci-fi thriller, "Johnny
Mnemonic;"
Andrew Davis' action film, "Chain Reaction;" and
the dark comedy "Feeling Minnesota," directed by
Steve Baigelman for New Line Cinema.
Reeves has begun production on the
highly anticipated sequels to "The Matrix."
Reeves
joins the rest of the original cast from "The
Matrix"
on location in Northern California and Australia to
simultaneously
film "The Matrix 2" and "The Matrix 3,"
directed by the Wachowski brothers.
