After slowly but surely touring and releasing records in the UK for a year, José González finally broke through at the start of 2006 with the omnipresent Heartbeats single (originally recorded by current Swedish faves The Knife) and swiftly became a household name of some repute.

He returns to confirm what we have always felt; that the Heartbeats 'bouncing ball' phenomenon was no freaky one-hit-wonder. The Crosses single is yet another fine example as to why the gold selling album 'Veneer' has connected with the British public to such a huge degree. He has now cemented his position in the Top Ten albums chart for a solid month or so.

Ever since the single sprang into the charts, José has been caught in the whirlwind that newly found fame brings, but remains resolutely determined to plough his own acoustic furrow. A sold out UK tour followed where audiences were left aghast at his finger plucking dexterity.

José is keeping incredibly busy with his new band Junip, currently recording new material as a follow up to their debut Black Refuge EP. He will also appear on the new Zero 7 album. (due to appear in May 2006)
