The new album was recorded this summer at the solar-powered Plastic Plant in Los Angeles, and the Mango Tree in Hawaii. Sleep Through The Static was co-produced by Jack Johnson and JP Plunier, the producer from his first album, Brushfire Fairytales.
Lineup for the record was Jack's longtime band members Adam Topol (drums), Merlo Podlewski (bass) and Zach Gill of ALO (keys).
Jack lists his musical influences as Nick Drake, The Beatles, Hendrix, Tribe Called Quest, Dylan, Ben Harper, Radiohead, G. Love and Special Sauce, Otis Redding, Neil Young, Bob Marley and so on.
