INTERVIEW
French duo Nouvelle Vague have built up a reputation over the past five years as supreme masters of re-invention. We caught up with one half of the duo, Olivier Libaux, on the day of the album's official UK release.
ALBUM REVIEW
What Hopkins' does so well if fuse classical music with ripped up nasty drum beats, that provides an intelligent and intriguing sound which has a feel that it has been crafted by a film score composer.
EP REVIEW
Admittedly I go on about how these guys have a sixties folk feel to them, so why is that a good thing I here you ask. Well it is, because Sparrow And The Workshop also have a modern edge to them too.
ALBUM REVIEW
This album, the seventh studio album from the Dave Matthews Band, turned out to be somewhat of a dedication to late DMB saxophonist LeRoi Moore who died last year.
In terms of content, it's fairly condensed considering Springsteen has a career that has spanned nearly 4 decades now.
'The Fireflow Trade' is a satisfying introduction. This self-produced effort more than holds its own with those of its genre-transcending peers on both sides of the Atlantic.
This week on our Interviews and Reviews homepage you can read about some of the best albums, singles and gigs of the moment including our review of The Duckworth Lewis Method's album The Greatest Cricket Album Ever, you can expect to see the band playing one of the biggest and best festivals over the summer - Latitude Festival. We catch up for a chat with French lounge duo Nouvelle Vague who have their third album in the shops this week ('NV3'), the duo are set for one of their busiest years to date. Big Whiskey and the GrooGux King is the seventh studio album from the Dave Matthews Band, it seems the album turned out to be somewhat of a dedication to late DMB saxophonist LeRoi Moore who died last August. Another review that is definitely worth a read is Pablo Roffey’s review of Jon Hopkins album Insides, this is a perfect album for those melancholic times when you just want to sit on your own with your headphones on and not think about much.
